Your Puppy Will Learn:

Potty Training and to Ring Bells at home to go outside. At the Hound House we potty train puppies all day long and teach them to ring bells to go potty in your home!

Come! Jumpstart puppies race back at top speed when they are called.

Sit, Down, Go to Your Bed, Wait till Released

Puppy Heel and Loose Leash Walking (not pulling on the leash!)

Fear-Free Crate Training. All of our puppies learn to go into their crate happily. For puppies that are fearful of the crate, we reintroduce the crate with training games and great fun.

Socialization! Socializing puppies is an art – and a vital necessary. Jumpstart puppies learn how to play and train with other puppies of all ages and sizes – calmly and with confidence.

Beautiful Manners! Jumpstart puppies learn to meet adult dogs politely and sit to meet new people.

Training Games! Jumpstart puppies learn Training Games to help you practice at home. These highly enjoyable games are especially helpful with young children who sometimes get left out of the training process due to their age.

Jumpstart is Child Friendly! We work closely with many children in the Jumpstart Program. Your children are welcome to come to class, or work with us privately in the afternoon when you pick up your puppy. We are happy to share your puppy’s new skills and teach children how best to work with their puppy at home.

Impulse Control! Just as with young children, puppies have no impulse control. This makes it challenging them to calm down, look at you, know where to look, and learn new skills. Jumpstart puppies begin learning impulse control within the first few days of the Jumpstart Program. In fact, your puppy will sit without being commanded to do so, look into your eyes, know he is going to learn something fun, and tune everything else out![/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Let’s Get Started!” style=”3d” color=”warning” size=”lg” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fhillaryshoundhouse.com%2Fcontact%2F||”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

Problems We Solve in Jumpstart:

Biting, teething and mouthy puppies learn what to chew instead of your clothing – and the kids

Barking, Jumping, Clawing, Chasing

Shy and Fearful puppies become confident, participate in play and greet new people with confidence

Emerging reactivity (appearing aggressive, lunging, barking) toward other dogs or people are helped with behavior modification

Children learn how to train and work with their puppy instead of being chased, bitten, and jumped on.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Let’s Get Started!” style=”3d” color=”warning” size=”lg” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fhillaryshoundhouse.com%2Fcontact%2F||” button_block=”true”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1531424836927{padding-top: 40px !important;padding-right: 80px !important;padding-left: 80px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://vimeo.com/160521192″][vc_column_text]

Our Training Philosophy

Our Training Philosophy is grounded in state-of-the-art, research-based, non-aversive training techniques. We use a reward-based system based on the positive choices puppies make and we teach those behaviors through play-based activities and training games. Our activities are based on affection and gentle regard for each dog’s unique temperament and needs for exercise, interaction and mental stimulation. We also know that puppies excel with a trained human so we support, encourage and educate families (children especially).
