A Puppy’s First Time Away from Home

To prepare your puppy for overnight stays away from home we offer Puppy Slumber Parties – overnight boarding for puppies 8 weeks to 12 months in our Jumpstart and Teen Tune-Up Program. 

Slumber Parties at Hillary’s Hound House are gentle, confidence-building overnight stays designed specifically for puppies who have not yet stayed away from home overnight – and for longer stays when you travel. These supervised sleepovers help puppies gradually adjust to being away from their families in a safe, familiar, and nurturing environment.

The goal of Puppy Slumber Parties isn’t just a good night’s sleep – it’s lifelong confidence

Around-the-clock Supervision

Puppies are never left alone overnight. A Hillary’s Hound House Puppy Coach is present at all times to provide continuous care, comfort, and monitoring, including nighttime potty support and reassurance when needed. Around-the-clock supervision helps puppies feel secure and supported, making their first overnight experiences positive and stress-free.

Accommodations

Puppies sleep in age-appropriate spaces that support comfort and potty training. Younger puppies rest in pens or crates, while older puppies enjoy beds and cushions in a cozy, living-room–style setting that encourages independence and social connection.

Because our puppies are already used to sleeping near one another, overnight stays feel familiar and comforting.  For nighttime potty needs, puppies have access to both our indoor potty zone and outdoor Sensory Garden.

Planning Ahead for Travel

We recommend scheduling one or more Puppy Slumber Parties before you need to leave town. These gentle overnight stays serve as a practice run for puppies – helping puppies build confidence, feel secure in overnight care, and establish familiar routines – while giving families peace of mind that future travel will be smooth and stress-free.

Slumber Parties are currently offered on Friday and Saturday nights. You’re welcome to select one or both evenings.
